ART AND DESSERT: Morning Glass Coffee & Cafe hosts “Totem Paintings,” a show of works by artist Peter Cole, from 7 to 10 p.m. today.

Cole’s pieces were created from objects found beachcombing at Kahuku Point.

Browse the collection, then choose from a variety of desserts at the counter, including the popular lilikoi pound cake and ice creams, with coffee available, too.

Fifty percent of sales will be donated to Plastic Free Hawaii.

“DINNER: IMPOSSIBLE LIVE”: Robert Irvine, host of the Food Network show “Dinner: Impossible,” headlines an interactive show meant to involve the audience on Sept. 7 at the Blaisdell Concert Hall.

Local concert promoter BAMP Project bills “Dinner: Impossible LIVE” as a “high-energy, multimedia and multisensory theatrical experience.”

In each segment, Irvine is expected to face a unique culinary challenge.

Tickets to a seminar with Irvine, if any are still available, are $150. The seminar is open to 50 fans, starting at 6 p.m.

Doors open at 7 p.m. for the main event, which begins at 8 p.m. Tickets are $35 and $55 from Ticketmaster, www.ticketmaster.com or 800-745-3000; Live Nation, 877-870-3674; the Blaisdell Center box office; and other outlets.

Crab on the Rise: 3660 on the Rise is putting on a Crab Fest on Thursday.

The dinner begins with vichyssoise with king crab meat, followed by ravioli filled with dungeness crab and peas, salmon crusted with lump crab meat and avocado, and veal “Oscar,” a medallion of veal topped with a king crab leg.

Dessert is a crepe cake with Grand Marnier-scented cream.

Eat your fill for $80. The special event takes place at 6:30 p.m. at 3660 on the Rise, 3660 Waialae Ave. Reservations: 737-1177.

Also, 3660 is holding a “Five for Ten” food drive throughout August. Bring in five items for the Hawaii Foodbank and receive 10 percent off your food purchase (for parties no larger than eight) in the main dining room.

LEMONADE AT CPK: Buy lemonade at a participating California Pizza Kitchen from Monday through Aug. 24 and help raise funds to find a cure for kids with cancer.

Proceeds from lemonade sales at select California Pizza Kitchen locations will be donated to Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation.

California Pizza Kitchens at Kahala Mall, Pearlridge Center, Ala Moana Center, Waikiki and Kailua are participating.
