HARA to post Hokus audio clips

BY JOHN BERGER / jberger@staradvertiser.com

In response to feedback and requests made during recent community meetings, the Hawai‘i Academy of Recording Arts (HARA) has partnered with Hawaii internet music store Mele.com to introduce the 2013 Nä Hökü Hanohano Final Ballot Listening Website on Wednesday, April 10. Look for a “Hoku 2013 Final Nominee” banner to view the finalists for each category and listen to audio clips from the finalists’ albums.

The new website will make it possible for HARA members to hear preview tracks from obscure, do-it-yourself genre category releases — but the website is open to the public as well and provides additional worldwide exposure for Hoku Awards finalists and their music.

The winners of the 2013 Na Hoku Hanohano Awards will be announced on May 25, at the Hawai‘i Convention Center. For more information, visit www.nahokuhanohano.org.
