After just two months of performances, “Benise’s Nights of Fire! Hawaii” has gone dark at the Waikiki Beachcomber Resort.
Starring mono-monikered acoustic guitarist Benise (pronounced Buh-ness-see), the show was a nearly two-hour experience that featured music and dance with a Latin perspective that blended elements of Argentine tango, Brazilian samba and Spanish flamenco with rock and pop.
According to a review published in March, Star-Advertiser critic John Berger described Benise as “a charismatic entertainer with the long hair and general stage presence of the hero of a women’s romance novel.”
A representative for the show confirmed the closure by telephone yesterday, but made no further comment.
