‘High School Block Party’ returns

Teens can celebrate graduation and the start of summer at the “High School Block Party 5” from 5 p.m. to midnight Thursday, June 6, at Wet ‘n’ Wild in Kapolei.

858897_540140006030676_609037322_oThe drug-free event, exclusively for 14- to 19-year-olds, is presented by the Hawaii Army National Guard and the Hawaii Meth Project. A portion of the proceeds will go the Hawaii High School Athletic Association.

Entertainment will be provided on five stages by more than 30 DJs, bands and dance crews. The Flowrider, Big Kahuna, Tornado, Island Racer and Raging River rides will be open from 5 to 9 p.m., with a party in the Hawaiian Waters wave pool until 8 p.m.

An anti-meth photo booth will be in action and East3 will create live aerosol art.

Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 after Friday, May 31, and $30 at the door. Students born in June are free at the door with a valid photo ID. Tickets are available at T&C Surf locations, select military outlets, Wet ‘n’ Wild and online at www.hsbp5.eventbrite.com.
