Meet 17-year-old Sydney Porter on any given day and you’ll likely find her in a T-shirt, jeans and boots smudged with dirt. “I’m a typical farm girl who loves hanging out with the animals,” she said. “My grandfather owns a ranch five minutes from my house in Haleiwa. I’m there every day, so some of my best friends are animals.”
