The Pig & the Lady Brunch: The Pig & the Lady is offering a new Saturday brunch menu at its new restaurant at the Pacific Gateway Center.
Selections include the Egg Pig Muffin, a slow-poached egg with Portuguese sausage and date jam on a savory muffin; an Almond Tofu Parfait of granola with tofu and honey yogurt, persimmons, grapes and lemon balm; Char Siu Pork Belly with red eye gravy; Saigon Steak and Eggs with short rib pate and roasted tomato; Dutch Pancake; and Crispy Thai Omelette filled with clams, bean sprouts, chili sambal and herb salad.
Prices range from $6 for the char siu pork belly to $16.50 for Saigon steak and eggs.
The Pig & the Lady is open 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday through Friday. The brunch menu will be available from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the restaurant, 83 N. King St. Visit thepigandthelady.com or call 585-8255.
Aloha to TASTE: You have until the end of next month to check out the offerings at TASTE, which will close its doors Jan. 31.
TASTE’s slate of vendors next week includes Ono to Go, offering plate lunches with a Hawaiian, Japanese and Korean influence on Wednesday. Specialities include keawe grilled short ribs, pulehu chicken, pork chops, teri citrus furikake salmon and spicy poke.
Other lunch vendors include Onda Pasta, offering handmade pasta dishes on Tuesday; BLK/BOX, a food truck that offers grass-fed burgers, seasonal salads, fries and baked sweets on Thursday; and Momo Burger, also a food truck serving grass-fed beef from Kulana Ranch on the Big Island on Friday.
January will feature both lunch and dinner vendors, including Good Clean Eats, Momo Burger, Mimi’s Place (Peruvian cuisine), Poi Dog Philly, chef Lee Anne Wong and a few surprises by chef Mark “Gooch” Noguchi.
TASTE, 667 Auahi St., will be closed from Christmas Eve (Dec. 24) until Jan. 2. Check tastetable.com for the daily schedule, which can change from week to week.
Christmas Eve Buffet: On Christmas Eve, 3660 on the Rise offers a buffet full of goodies, including oysters on the half shell, Asian slaw with char siu, assorted poke, Szechwan pork with vegetables, pan-seared salmon with black bean sauce, braised boneless beef ribs with truffle jus and more.
There will also be a prime rib carving station and an assortment of holiday dessert delights.
Cost is $49.95 for adults, $20 for children ages 3 to 10. The buffet will be served from 5 to 8 p.m. at 3660 on the Rise, 3660 Waialae Ave. Call 737-1177.
Breakfast with Santa: The Hawaii Prince Hotel Waikiki offers breakfast with Santa from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 22, in the Mauna Kea Ballroom.
Keiki can participate in face painting, balloon twisters and photos with Santa.
A buffet will feature breakfast pastries, fruits, yogurt and cereal, along with bacon, “Prince fried rice” and a pancake station.
